America’s most famous sporting event is here again! The 55th annual Super Bowl kicks off in just a few hours. Even if you’re not the world’s biggest football fan, we’ve pulled together some of the best tips for making it a great one — from commercial break games to easy recipes.
Arguably the most important part of any event is the food, right? Super Bowl Sunday is no exception. Think: nachos, wings, and all the guacamole dip you can handle. Whether you’re planning on cooking for 4 or just yourself, there are a few not-so-obvious recipes you should try, and odds are, you probably already have all the ingredients in your house already. Parmesan Garlic Roasted Shrimp, Corn Dip, and Devil’s on Horseback are all super tasty, and easy to make. If you start now, you’ll be able to make it all before game time.
The east coast is currently getting slammed by a snowstorm, so flag football might not be an option. If you’re watching the game with your household, there are plenty of games you can play, IRL and virtually. First: play with your food. Get all your snacks and dishes together, portion an equal amount out to each person, and then have a competition over who can make the most elaborate design. This can also be done over Zoom if you’re watching with loved ones.
For many, the best part of Super Bowl Sunday is the commercials. There are plenty of ready-to-go Bingo boards that you can download and print out, or email around to friends and family spread far and wide. Another commercial game is to host an awards show, with a host of prizes for the best commercials that everyone can vote for.
No matter who you’re with — or even if you like football or not — there’s still plenty of time to plan some fun activities for the day. Stay safe and healthy, and happy Super Bowl Sunday!
