New England is known for many things — world-class museums, top-notch universities, and beautiful European-style architecture. It’s also known as the home to some of the best seafood in the world. Lobster rolls? Clam chowder? We’re already drooling — and preparing for the seafood event of the year: the New England Seafood Expo, which takes place from March 15-17.
If you’re not already familiar, the New England Seafood Expo is one of the leading trade events for the seafood and restaurant industry, including retailers, restaurateurs, caterers, food service and processing professionals. These market experts come together to meet suppliers from all over the world and source seafood, new products, equipment, services, and more. It’s also one of the biggest: the exhibit typically sees more than 22,000 attendees.
There is also an accompanying conference that features more than 25 educational sessions led by industry experts. Visitors can either get the limited or full conference passport, which determines which events they can attend. Events include talks on reducing plastic use in seafood production and consumption, economic forecasts, and sales trends. There’s also the annual oyster shucking competition on Monday, March 16 at 2:30 pm — all contestants receive free admission to the expo!
The 40th annual Seafood Expo North America will take place in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Whether you’re traveling there with colleagues, customers, or solo, you’ll want to organize transportation to avoid the infamous Boston traffic and parking prices.
