Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean the fun needs to stop. The upcoming month is full of fun wintery events, for all ages and groups. Enjoy the magical winter New England months while they last!

One of Boston’s premier dance events takes place this Saturday, January 12th. The Great Gatsby Ball sees locals dress up in their finest 1920s outfits, and dance to the best music of the Jazz Age. Fairley Copley Plaza will be transformed into a Charleston dance floor, with lessons and performances of all levels. The event also includes games and live music from the Wolverine Jazz Band. Hors d’oeuvres are included with the ticket. It’s not too late to buy tickets!

January 19th sees the South Shore Wine & Food Expo set up in Plymouth Memorial Hall. The event sees two floors of world class restaurateurs and local chefs, with samples of wine and food pairings, as well as a vendor marketplace, live music, and an opportunity to learn about what New England has to offer. This event goes from 1pm to 8pm, and you’ll surely leave stuffed. VIP tickets are available which include premium and small production international red and white wines, and a more intimate setting to enjoy.

The next day, January 20th, is Martin Luther King Day, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate. All Saints Church in Dorchester Center will be holding a free MLK Day Celebration, which will see local students playing classical music, a discussion about MLK’s impact and legacy, and a reception afterwards. Symphony Hall will be hosting a free Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert by Boston Children’s Chorus. The Museum of Fine Arts will also host special events during their free admission day on January 21st.
